President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s daughter-in-law Kelsea Tadiwa Tafirenyika and her uncle, Isaac Arab Jessub, have each been granted US$1,000 bail by the High Court after successfully challenging a magistrate’s decision to deny them bail.

Justice Pisirayi Kwenda, sitting at the High Court in Harare on Thursday, allowed the appeal by consent and substituted the magistrate’s August 13 ruling with an order admitting both accused to bail. The court directed each accused to deposit US$1,000 with the clerk of the Harare Magistrates Court. They were also ordered to surrender their passports, report to police once every fortnight and remain at specified residential addresses until the criminal proceedings are finalised.

Tafirenyika must report to Borrowdale Police Station on Fridays, while Jessub is required to report to Hatfield Police Station

Divorce Attorney: How to Protect Your Assets

Divorce can be emotional, stressful, and financially difficult. If you own property, retirement accounts, a business, or shared debts, hiring a divorce attorney may help protect your financial future.

A good divorce lawyer can explain your rights and help you understand how property division works. In many divorces, couples must divide homes, bank accounts, vehicles, retirement funds, credit card debt, and other assets. Without proper guidance, one person may accept an unfair agreement.

Why Asset Protection Matters

An asset protection divorce strategy can help identify what is marital property and what may be separate property. Marital property usually includes assets gained during the marriage. Separate property may include assets owned before marriage, inheritance, or gifts, depending on state law.

A family law attorney can also help with hidden assets, business valuation, spousal support, child support, and custody-related financial issues.

Divorce Settlement Tips

Before agreeing to a divorce settlement, gather bank statements, tax returns, mortgage documents, retirement account statements, insurance policies, and debt records. Full financial disclosure is important.

Final Thoughts

Divorce is not only about ending a marriage. It is also about protecting your future. A divorce attorney can help you make informed decisions and avoid costly mistakes.

Hon Minister Tino Machakaire I respectfully want to raise an important concern with you.

As the Minister responsible for Youth, you have a responsibility to encourage young people to do positive things in their communities and contribute to the development of Zimbabwe. However, I am concerned about the kind of content some public figures are now sharing on social media, including sexually explicit or nude images.

If such content is being allowed or treated differently depending on who is posting it, how are young people supposed to understand what is acceptable? My concern is not about attacking anyone because of their sexual orientation. It is about consistency, equal treatment, and the standards that should apply to everyone.

I have previously raised concerns about Mama Vee and the type of content being presented as entertainment. I am asking for clarity because it sometimes appears that certain people may be treated differently from others. If Zimbabwean laws or policies apply to LGBTQIA+ people in a particular way, then the authorities should communicate clearly what those rules are and apply them consistently.

As someone from the LGBTQIA+ community who is currently outside Zimbabwe, this issue matters to me personally. Many people are left confused about what is legally permitted, what is not, and whether the rules are being applied equally.

Please, Honourable Minister, help address this matter openly and consistently. We need clear information so that young people and the wider public understand the standards that apply to social-media content in Zimbabwe.

Structured Settlement vs Lump Sum Payment

A structured settlement provides payments over time instead of one full payment upfront. This is common in personal injury cases, lawsuits, and insurance settlements.

A lump sum settlement gives the recipient all the money at once. Both options have advantages and disadvantages

Thank you for taking the time to consider this concern.

Supreme Court dismisses Mpofu and Chimombe’s appeal over presidential goat scheme fraud

THE Supreme Court has dismissed an application for leave to appeal filed by businessmen Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe, who were convicted of misappropriating funds from the Presidential Goat Scheme programme.

A bench comprising Justices George Chiweshe, Hlekani Mwayera and Susan Mavangira also dismissed their appeal against sentence, bringing to an end the pair’s legal challenge over the case.

U.S.–Iran Tensions Rise After Major Naval Incident in Strait of Hormuz

Global tensions are increasing after a reported naval confrontation involving the United States and Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. The incident has sparked fears of rising fuel prices, global economic instability, and potential military escalation in the Middle East. Governments around the world are closely monitoring the situation as international markets react to the growing uncertainty.

Mpofu was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Of those, three years were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour, and a further four years were suspended on condition that he repays US$2.06 million before 28 February 2026. He is currently serving an effective 15-year jail term.

Chimombe was sentenced to 17 years. Three years were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour, and another two years were suspended on condition that he repays US$964,000. He is serving an effective 12-year prison term.

The Presidential Goat Scheme was a government initiative aimed at empowering rural communities through livestock distribution. The court found that the two had abused the programme by diverting funds meant for beneficiaries.

The dismissal of both the appeal and the application for leave to appeal means the High Court sentences will stand.

Legal observers say the ruling reinforces Government’s tough stance on corruption, particularly in cases involving public funds and poverty alleviation programmes.

On Wednesday 22 July at 14:44 pm, 10 days ago, my Lord Husband King Atehene of the North was kidnapped.

He was captured through the help of his brothers against his will, where he is confined in solitary isolation.

He is currently being held against his will at WinningWay Facility in Kumasi, a Christian Centre where exorcisms are being conducted on him, doing much harm to his body and soul.

He has endured torture and bodily harm, and has been told the only people who can release him from the place are his brothers and he has to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and go back to SDA Church, and denounce YAHOWAH.

The King has not spoken to his brothers since he returned to Ghana and has refused to have any communication with them.

They believe he is demon possessed, and I am a witch who bewitched him, and the ultimatum he was given was to never speak about me, his wife, his children Chaka and Chawela, and to never mention Kubala Kingdom.

My daughter Nakai said, "He has already come this far Mum, Nino always pulls through one way or another."

I am connected to my Lord Husband in spirit.

I have submitted the necessary documentation regarding how the King of Kubala's life is in immediate danger to the Supreme Court of Human Rights. Thank you to Ghana Embassy for the help thus far. And thank you to all who are working day and night to ensure the King is released from this capture against his will.

I am going to Ghana to save my Lord Husband, Kubalans around the world continue to pray for the King. He will never put his faith in YAHOWAH down, or deny his wife and mother of his children.

My Lord Husband will not die, he will live to declare the Kingdom of Kubala and the whole world shall see it.

The Kingdom of Kubala can never be destroyed!

Kubala Kubala Ilizwe

Zimbabwean Man’s Consent Claim Fails As UK Jury Convicts Him Of Rape

A Zimbabwean man has been sentenced to eight years behind bars in the UK for a rape committed in 2021. Emmanuel Jeche, 28, received the prison term after a jury unanimously found him guilty following an eight-day trial.

Jeche, who previously lived in Walnut Tree, Milton Keynes, was sentenced at Amersham Crown Court on Thursday, 2 July 2026.

Emmanuel Jeche Sentenced For 2021 Wolverton Rape

According to Thames Valley Police, the offence happened in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, during the early hours of 12 June 2021.

Jeche was 23 years old at the time.

The victim reported the rape to police on 13 June 2021. An investigation was launched, and Jeche was arrested the following day.

During the investigation, Jeche admitted that sexual intercourse had taken place. However, he claimed it was consensual.

The case eventually went to trial at Amersham Crown Court. After an eight-day hearing, the jury unanimously convicted Jeche of one count of rape on 14 May 2026.

Police Speak After Emmanuel Jeche Gets Eight-Year Jail Term

Investigating officer Police Staff Investigator David Brandon, of Milton Keynes CID, said the sentence could not erase the impact of the offence.

Brandon said:“No sentence can ever compensate a victim for the trauma caused by a rape offence and the long-term effects such crimes can have.”“However, I hope this sentence provides the victim with a sense of closure and allows her to continue rebuilding her life following this awful experience.”

Brandon also praised the victim’s conduct during the lengthy investigation and court proceedings.

He said:“I would like to commend the courage and determination shown by the victim throughout the investigation and court process.”

Thames Valley Police Vow To Pursue Sexual Offence Cases

Brandon said sexual offences can have a serious and lasting impact on victims.

He said:“Rape and other sexual offences can have a devastating impact on victims. We will continue to investigate these offences thoroughly, support victims and pursue those responsible through thecourts.”

Jeche’s sentencing came more than five years after the offence in Wolverton.

The eight-year prison term closes the latest stage of a case that began when the victim reported the incident in June 2021 and continued through Jeche’s arrest, investigation and eventual jury trial.

A Zimbabwean man living in Missouri has been charged with multiple felonies after authorities say he stabbed his wife nearly 30 times before fleeing with their 6-year-old daughter.

Police said the incident happened on July 1 in unincorporated St. Louis County. Neighbors reportedly called 911 after hearing the woman screaming from a balcony that she was going to die. When officers arrived, they found her suffering from multiple stab wounds.

According to investigators, the victim told police that her husband, Munyaradzi Chiturumani, had threatened to kill their child before leaving with the girl. An AMBER Alert was issued, and authorities later found the child safe at a motel.

Police said two bloody knives were recovered from the home. Chiturumani is being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond. A motive has not yet been released.

Neighbors at a Missouri apartment complex heard startling words when a woman apparently screamed from her balcony that she was going to die before she was found stabbed dozens of times.

Munyaradzi Chiturumani, 36, was wanted in an AMBER Alert announced by the Missouri State Highway Patrol after he allegedly stabbed his wife and took their 6-year-old daughter.

The defendant was found, arrested, and charged with first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk, according to area CBS affiliate KMOV.

On Wednesday at about 5 p.m., neighbors called 911 "after hearing victim yelling out that she was going to die from her balcony," a probable cause statement obtained by the outlet states. Police responded to the area on Shadycreek Court in St. Louis County "to find [the] victim with approximately 30 stab wounds."

The woman was transported to a hospital and stated that "her husband stabbed her and he threatened to kill their 6-year-old child next and then left with the child," the court document goes on.

"Police later seized two bloody knives in the residence," the probable cause statement adds. Authorities said the woman was later listed in stable condition. Investigators spent hours searching for the father, identified as Chiturumani, and the couple's daughter.

The girl was found safe in the city of St. Louis, police added. She was in "relatively good condition" and cared for by medical personnel.

"We are ecstatic that we've been able to locate her," the police department said.

Chiturumani was located about 12 miles east in Caseyville, Illinois. He was arrested and jailed on a $500,000 cash-only bond.

Authorities noted that they had — in times past — been called to the apartment where the alleged attack occurred.

Bindura Villagers Protest Against Chinese Miners Over Alleged Land Destruction Near Homes

News

Bindura villagers have raised serious concerns after protesting against Chinese miners whom they accuse of mining too close to their homes and damaging their land.

The protest reportedly took place in Bindura, where frustrated residents said mining activities were now affecting their daily lives, homes, fields, and the environment around them.

According to villagers, the mining operations have moved too close to residential areas, creating fear that continued digging could damage houses, destroy farmland, and put families at risk.

Some residents were heard saying, “Hanzi ana Xing Jend ngavadzokere kumusha kwavo,” expressing anger and frustration over what they believe is a lack of respect for local communities and their land.

However, community leaders and authorities are being urged to handle the matter carefully and peacefully, focusing on accountability, land protection, and proper mining regulations rather than conflict.

Villagers Say Their Land Is Being Destroyed

Residents claim the mining activities have caused visible damage to the land, with concerns over open pits, soil disturbance, dust, noise, and possible environmental harm.

Many villagers depend on the land for farming, grazing, and family survival. They say mining near homes does not only disturb their peace but also threatens their future.

One major concern is that if the mining continues without proper control, some families may be forced to leave areas they have lived in for years.

Mining Near Homes Raises Safety Questions

Mining close to residential areas can create serious risks if not properly monitored. Villagers are worried about:

Cracks developing near homes
Dust affecting children and elderly people
Noise disturbing the community
Land becoming unsafe for farming
Water sources being affected
Open pits becoming dangerous

The villagers are now calling for local authorities, environmental officials, and mining regulators to visit the area and investigate the complaints.

Community Calls for Action

The protest shows growing frustration among rural communities who feel they are often left out when mining companies come into their areas.

Residents say they are not against development, but they want mining companies to respect people’s homes, protect the environment, and follow the law.

They are demanding answers on whether the miners have proper permits, whether environmental assessments were done, and whether the community was consulted before operations began.

Authorities Urged to Intervene

Local leaders and government officials are now being urged to step in before the situation gets worse.

Villagers want the matter resolved peacefully, but they also want their concerns taken seriously.

The key questions now are:

Are the miners operating legally?
How close are they allowed to mine near homes?
Was the community properly consulted?
Will damaged land be restored?
Who will protect villagers if homes or farms are affected?

A Bigger Issue Across Zimbabwe

The Bindura protest highlights a wider issue in Zimbabwe, where communities in mining areas often complain about land damage, pollution, and lack of consultation.

Mining can bring jobs and investment, but when communities feel ignored, it creates anger and mistrust.

For development to benefit everyone, mining companies must operate responsibly, respect local people, and repair any damage caused by their operations.

Conclusion

The protest in Bindura is more than just anger against miners. It is a cry from villagers who say their land, homes, and livelihoods are under threat.

Authorities now need to investigate the situation, protect the community, and make sure mining activities follow proper environmental and safety standards.

Until then, villagers say they will continue demanding respect, justice, and protection for their land.

Fire Erupts at Noma Complex in Kadoma as Passersby Rush to Save Nearby Honda Fit

News

A fire broke out at a building located within the popular Noma Complex in Kadoma, causing panic among business owners, shoppers, and passersby in the area. The incident drew immediate attention as thick smoke billowed from the affected structure, prompting people nearby to take swift action to prevent further losses.

Witnesses at the scene reported that flames were visible from parts of the building, raising concerns that nearby vehicles and businesses could also be affected if the fire spread. Fortunately, community members quickly stepped in to assist before emergency responders arrived.

Heroic Effort Saves Honda Fit from Potential Destruction

One of the most remarkable moments during the incident was the rescue of a Honda Fit parked dangerously close to the burning building. Fearing that the vehicle could catch fire or suffer significant heat damage, a group of passersby worked together to physically lift and move the car away from the danger zone.

Videos and photos circulating on social media captured the dramatic scene as several individuals coordinated their efforts to safely evacuate the vehicle. Their quick thinking and teamwork likely prevented thousands of dollars in potential property damage.

The Honda Fit was successfully moved to a safe location, avoiding any direct impact from the fire.

No Injuries Reported

Authorities and eyewitnesses confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident. Occupants of nearby businesses and members of the public were able to evacuate the area safely.

The absence of injuries has been welcomed by the Kadoma community, especially considering the potential risks associated with commercial building fires, including smoke inhalation, structural collapse, and the rapid spread of flames to neighboring properties.

Emergency Response and Fire Safety Concerns

Emergency responders were called to the scene to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further throughout the complex. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been officially confirmed, and investigations are expected to determine what triggered the incident.

Fire safety experts frequently stress the importance of regular building inspections, functioning fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation plans, and proper electrical maintenance in commercial properties. Such measures can significantly reduce the risk of devastating fires and protect both lives and property.

Community Spirit Shines During Crisis

The incident highlighted the strength of community spirit in Kadoma. Rather than fleeing the scene, several bystanders immediately worked together to protect property and assist those affected.

Acts of bravery and cooperation during emergencies often make a critical difference in reducing losses and ensuring public safety. The successful rescue of the Honda Fit has already become a talking point across social media platforms, with many praising the individuals involved for their quick response.

Growing Importance of Commercial Property Insurance

Events such as the Noma Complex fire serve as a reminder of the importance of commercial property insurance for business owners. Fire-related incidents can result in significant financial losses due to property damage, business interruption, and equipment replacement costs.

Insurance coverage can help businesses recover more quickly after unexpected disasters by covering repairs, rebuilding costs, and lost revenue during periods of closure.

Business owners are encouraged to regularly review their insurance policies to ensure they have adequate protection against fire and other emergencies.

Investigation Continues

As authorities continue investigating the cause of the fire, residents and business operators in Kadoma will be hoping for answers and reassurance that similar incidents can be prevented in the future.

For now, the community remains grateful that no lives were lost and that the quick actions of ordinary citizens helped prevent additional damage during a potentially dangerous situation.

Conclusion

The fire at Noma Complex in Kadoma serves as both a warning and an inspiration. While the incident underscores the risks associated with commercial property fires, it also showcases the power of community action. Thanks to the swift response of passersby, a nearby Honda Fit was safely evacuated, no injuries were reported, and a potentially worse situation was avoided.

High Court Dismisses Marry Mubaiwa’s Bid to Halt VP Chiwenga Attempted Murder TrialHigh Court Dismisses Marry Mubaiwa’s Bid to Halt VP Chiwenga Attempted Murder Trial

The High Court has dismissed an application by Marry Mubaiwa seeking a permanent stay of criminal proceedings in her attempted murder case involving Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga.

Justice Jacob Manzunzu ruled against Mubaiwa after finding no merit in the arguments she raised in her bid to overturn an earlier ruling by Harare regional magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka.

Mubaiwa had cited Chakanyuka and the Prosecutor-General as respondents in the matter

Court Finds No Irregularities

According to NewsDay, Justice Manzunzu said the lower court had properly handled the matter and conducted the necessary inquiry before dismissing Mubaiwa’s application.

“The purpose of investigation is to get the truth of the matter,” said Justice Manzunzu.

He explained that a court may choose either a formal or informal inquiry when determining whether there has been unreasonable delay in criminal proceedings.

According to the judge, what mattered most was whether the court had adequately considered the factors outlined under Section 167A of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act.

“There is nothing wrong where the court feels factors in section 167A(2) cannot be realised without viva voce evidence, to call for such evidence,” he said.

Delay Linked To Medical Issues

Justice Manzunzu said the record already contained the remand history of the case, making a formal inquiry unnecessary.

Mubaiwa Challenged Magistrate’s Approach

In her application for review, Mubaiwa argued that Chakanyuka committed a gross irregularity by dismissing the permanent stay application without conducting what she described as a mandatory investigation under the law.

She also challenged the magistrate’s finding that only delays mainly attributable to the State could justify a permanent stay of prosecution.

However, the High Court ultimately upheld the magistrate’s ruling, clearing the way for the criminal proceedings to continue.Mubaiwa was arrested on December 14, 2019, and is facing attempted murder allegations involving her former husband, Vice-President Chiwenga.

In November 2024, she filed an application seeking a permanent stay of prosecution under Section 167A of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act, arguing that there had been unreasonable delays in concluding the criminal case.

“I dared to be someone and something and failed,” Gorimbo wrote. “I gave all I can in the sport and I am walking away from the sport.”

The Zimbabwean star admitted that his ultimate goal was always to become a UFC champion. After reflecting on his recent performances, he decided it was time to close this chapter of his life.

“My dream was to be a UFC champion and if I cannot be that, I am going to walk away from the sport,” he explained.

Emotional Farewell To The UFC

Gorimbo revealed that after his most recent fight, he immediately felt that it could be the final time he stepped into the cage as a professional fighter.

The veteran fighter said he made a conscious effort to enjoy every moment during fight week because something inside him suggested the end was near.

“Honestly I feel some sort of relief,” he said. “Going into my last fight I made sure I lived life to the fullest during fight week because something said I should because it could be the last time.”

Three days after the fight, Gorimbo emailed UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby to thank him for giving him the opportunity to compete in the world’s biggest MMA promotion.

“Sean Shelby got me into the UFC and I am grateful that one of my dreams got fulfilled,” he said.

“Now let’s focus on tennis for my daughters,” he said.

Could Themba Gorimbo Return To MMA?

Although Gorimbo is retiring as an active athlete, he hinted that fans may still see him involved in combat sports in the future.

The former UFC fighter revealed he could eventually return as a coach or manager to help guide the next generation of fighters.

“I failed at that as an athlete myself but it’s not over,” he wrote. “I will be back as a Coach / Manager.”

Mesothelioma and Asbestos Exposure: Legal, Medical, and Financial Insights

Mesothelioma is a rare but aggressive form of cancer caused primarily by exposure to asbestos, a once widely used industrial material found in insulation, roofing, and construction products. Individuals who worked in high-risk industries such as shipbuilding, construction, and manufacturing are especially vulnerable. Today, awareness around asbestos exposure, mesothelioma symptoms, and early cancer detection is critical, as this disease often remains undiagnosed until it reaches advanced stages. Common symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath, and fluid buildup in the lungs, which makes timely medical evaluation essential for improving survival outcomes.

From a legal and financial standpoint, mesothelioma cases are often associated with significant compensation opportunities. Victims and their families frequently pursue mesothelioma lawsuits, asbestos settlement claims, and personal injury compensation against companies responsible for asbestos exposure. High-value legal services such as mesothelioma attorneys, asbestos law firms, and structured settlement payouts play a key role in helping victims recover medical costs, lost wages, and long-term care expenses. Because these cases can involve multi-million dollar settlements, keywords tied to legal claims and compensation are among the highest-paying in digital advertising.

Treatment options for mesothelioma continue to evolve, with advanced approaches including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted cancer treatments. Patients often seek care from specialized cancer centers that offer cutting-edge therapies and clinical trials. Alongside medical treatment, many individuals explore health insurance coverage, cancer treatment financing, and long-term care planning to manage the high costs associated with this condition. As awareness grows, combining accurate health information with resources on legal rights and financial support can empower patients and families to make informed decisions while navigating this challenging diagnosis.

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has issued a warning to the country's social media influencers and online content creators, who earn substantial income from platforms like YouTube and Facebook, to comply with tax regulations.

Failure to comply if you know you know

Social Media Stars Under Pressure As ZIMRA Tightens Tax Net

Zimbabwean content creators are under a ZIMRA tax spotlight after Madam Boss revealed she earns up to US$20,000 (approximately R370,000) in a good month, triggering fresh scrutiny on digital earnings and compliance ahead of a key deadline.

ZIMRA Sets Deadline For Voluntary Disclosure

Content creators earning from platforms such as Facebook and YouTube have been urged to regularise their tax affairs before 30 May 2026, as authorities move to tighten enforcement.

Introducing the voluntary disclosure programme, ZIMRA said:

“Under the programme, taxpayers who make a full and truthful disclosure will have penalties waived in full, although interest on outstanding amounts will still apply.”Importantly, such disclosures will not automatically trigger audits or criminal proceedings.”

The window offers relief for those who come forward early. However, it is time-bound. Once it closes, enforcement will escalate.

“After the deadline, anyone caught dodging tax will face the full force of the law, including penalties and possible prosecution.”

The programme applies broadly. It covers individuals and businesses across sectors, including informal traders and transport operators. Crucially, it also targets online earners whose income has often gone undeclared

Madam Boss Earnings Spark Industry Attention

H-Metro repports that the spotlight intensified after Madam Boss publicly disclosed her Facebook earnings. She said she can make more than US$20,000 (approximately R370,000) in a strong month.

That revelation has drawn attention to the scale of money circulating in Zimbabwe’s digital content space.

H-Metro reports that several prominent figures — including Mai TT, DJ Towers, Ritz and Mama Vee — are among those expected to align their earnings with tax requirements.

ZIMRA indicated that income from digital platforms is now a key focus area.Income earned from online platforms such as Facebook and YouTube is firmly on our radar.”

Authorities also signalled that visible wealth could trigger checks.

“Cases where individuals possess significant assets or property developments inconsistent with declared income will be examined.”

The message is clear. Digital income is no longer invisible.

New Tax Measures Expand Digital Oversight

The crackdown comes alongside new tax measures introduced earlier this year. The Government confirmed that the Digital Services Withholding Tax (DSWT), introduced under Finance Act No. 7 of 2025, took effect on 1 January 2026.Finance Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube explained that the tax applies to payments made to non-resident suppliers for services such as streaming, online advertising and e-hailing.

While this tax targets cross-border services, it forms part of a broader push to capture revenue from the digital economy.

For local creators, the requirement is straightforward. Register with ZIMRA. Declare all income. Settle any outstanding tax obligations.

Those who comply within the window may avoid penalties. Those who do not risk financial and legal consequences once the deadline passes.

As digital earnings grow, so too does scrutiny. And with the deadline approaching, the pressure is mounting across Zimbabwe’s influencer spac

Please post for me and Hide ID.

I’d like to put the spotlight on a certain college in Harare called Harare Institute of Public Health (HIPH), to be specific.

A tragic incident occurred a week ago, were a female student enrolled at this public college committed suicid€ due to a balance due on her tuition fees.

I have a child who enrolled at the same college in February. Prior to enrollment the college tells you all the requirements and tuition payment terms, etc. If you can't pay the whole tuition at once, you can pay 60% upon enrollment (February), then 20% end March and the final 20% end April. They further assure you that no student will be turned away due to outstanding tuition fees (I was told this in person upon enrolling my child), not knowing that it's just a tactic to get you to enrol with them!

Unfortunately the deceas€d had a 20% balance for the semester due by April. On the 15th of April she and a large number of students were denied access and turned away due to balances. This was on the 15th, meanwhile they have said fees are to be paid by the end of the month.

It seems at that time the parents/guardians could not raise the amount required for her to return to college. Thus leading to the tragic incident where the student decided to €nd her lif€. She was buri€d over the weekend.

This could have been avoided. What are the priorities of this college? Yes, we know that most of these colleges are money-making ventures, but at whose expense? It’s unfortunate that this particular college seems to be more interested in demanding money at the expense of quality education, and charging exorbitant amounts for poor quality student materials.

Such a young promising life cut short because of a money-centered institution!

RIP Courage Rutsate ? ? ?

.I am a married father of three living with a visual impairment, and my wife has a physical disability. We survive through vending and struggle to make ends meet.

In August 2022, we were featured on a TV programme about people living with disabilities on ZBC TV. In December 2022, Baker’s Inn approached us and said they wanted to help us. They promised us a container shop and a chance to distribute their bread so we could earn a living. The container was delivered in December 2022, and we were told we would earn a commission of 5 cents per loaf. In April 2023, they also gave us a scooter to help with deliveries.

However, there was no clear written or signed agreement given to us for this arrangement. From the beginning, we were expected to cover all the costs ourselves, including fuel, paying a driver, and securing the container, using only this small commission. We even had to pay a driver about US$300 while working towards daily targets.

Despite working hard, the money we received did not match our sales. For example, in December 2023, after selling 17,060 loaves in about 18 days, we were paid only US$24.30 instead of about US$853 based on the agreed commission.

Around December 2023, the company also started charging us US$115 per month for the container, even though it had been presented as support. Soon after, we were told that our account had a debt of over US$9,000. We were not clearly shown how this debt came about.

In early 2024, we requested account statements and noticed errors, including duplicate charges and an unexplained opening balance of US$2,858.92. After disputing this, the amount was reduced to about US$5,568.46, but there were still figures we could not verify. The amount we could not account for was around US$2,400.

Despite raising these concerns, Baker’s Inn stopped engaging with us and placed our account on hold, preventing us from continuing with the business.

In 2026, after about three years, the company came and took back the container without any clear explanation. All the items that had been presented as help were taken back, and no legal ownership had ever been given to us.

Because of this situation, we lost our source of income. We used our own resources trying to grow the business, and now we are left with nothing. Our family is struggling, and our child is no longer able to attend school.

We feel that we were used for publicity rather than genuinely helped. We were given hope in December 2022, but by 2026, we were left worse off than before. We are asking for help and for Baker’s Inn to respond and explain what happened.

Yesterday at around 10:00 PM, I was driving an inDrive customer to Borrowdale. I used the road that passes by State House and the Harare Golf Club. Just after the durawall of State House, near the agricultural buildings, there was a single Presidential Guard soldier.

He stopped a Toyota Aqua and made it pull over to the side of the road, but I did not stop because I did not realise I was being signalled. On my way back, the same soldier stopped me. He asked for my driver’s licence and car keys, which I handed over.

He then asked where I was coming from, and I explained that I was coming from Borrowdale, as I was working as an inDrive driver. He said he wanted to deal with me for not stopping when I was allegedly signalled by officers near the Botanical Gardens. I told him that I did not see anyone signalling me to stop.

He then said he was arresting me and that he would deal with me. When he attempted to put me in handcuffs, I refused. At that point, he cocked his gun and pointed it at me, saying, “Do you think I am playing? Do something.”

Out of fear for my safety, I gave him the $20 I had. He also appeared to be intoxicated.I met the same soldier yesterday

He wanted to exort me $40 for the exact same reason ini ndakati kana muchida kuuraya officer itai zvamunoda asi ini handisi kubvuma mhosva iyi and macuffs handisi kuzoiswa ndikamira pakati peroad for him to shoot and he was drunk to the core

I told him to call his supervisor or superior and I started to call my own people from CIO that is when he saw that the tish was getting real ndopaakati chiendai

I asked him kuti what crime did we commit and all he could say was tasungwa

So where do we report to because I can ID him And I am sure kuti they have log ins for soldiers patrolling that areas

Unless masoldier are above the lawWell similar happened to me but he wasn't alone. It was 2 soldiers and 2 police man. The soldiers were asking me to lie on the ground trying to intimidate me but the police man said go..the 2 police man saved me and even asked where I want to go and gave me directions then the soldiers said you're ignoring our order but the police insisted I should go onInvest in dash cams and expose them online with proof.

Zimbabweans Push “Chamisa–Malema Swap” Debate as Calls Grow for Stronger Opposition Leadership

News

A bold and controversial idea is trending across Zimbabwe social media: a symbolic “swap” between opposition leader Nelson Chamisa and South African political figure Julius Malema.

While not a real political proposal, the “swap” conversation is being used by some citizens to express frustration with current opposition leadership and a growing desire for a more assertive and confrontational political approach.

Supporters of the idea say they are looking for:
? Stronger opposition presence
? More direct engagement with national issues
? Leadership that can challenge the system more aggressively

Julius Malema, known in South Africa for his outspoken and bold political style, has become a reference point in these discussions. Many online users describe his approach as fearless and direct, qualities they believe are needed in Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

On the other hand, Nelson Chamisa continues to maintain a significant support base, with many backing his strategy and vision for change. However, the rise of alternative opinions highlights a clear divide among Zimbabweans about what kind of leadership is needed going forward.

Political analysts say the “swap” narrative is less about actual policy and more about public frustration and a call for change. They emphasize that leadership transitions can only happen through democratic and constitutional processes, not symbolic exchanges.

What this trending conversation reveals is simple:
?? Zimbabweans are becoming more vocal
? Expectations for opposition leadership are rising
⚖️ The demand for impactful change is growing louder

As the debate continues to gain traction online, it reflects a broader national conversation about the future of leadership, accountability, and governance in Zimbabwe.

Uri Junky Buda!"—Social Media Abuzz After Video Shows Woman Being Kicked Out of Luxury McLaren

A video circulating on Zimcelebz and other social media platforms has sparked a wave of debate after a woman was filmed being unceremoniously kicked out of a white McLaren supercar.

The clip, which has quickly gone viral, captures a tense moment where the occupants of the high-end vehicle are seen demanding that the woman leave the car immediately. The caption overlaying the video reads: "Uri Junky buda muno mu McLaren mangu fast" (You’re a junkie, get out of my McLaren fast), punctuated by the "eyes" emoji.

The Incident

In the footage, the white McLaren is seen with its signature dihedral doors open as onlookers watch the drama unfold. The tone of the exchange is sharp, with the driver or owner of the vehicle making it clear that the woman was no longer welcome inside.

While the exact location and the identities of those involved remain unconfirmed, the video has triggered intense reactions across Facebook and Instagram, with many questioning the backstory that led to such a public confrontation.

Social Media Reacts

As with most viral "Zim Celeb" moments, the comment sections are split. The reactions generally fall into three camps:

The "Clout" Theory: Some viewers believe the scene might be staged for social media engagement or part of a music video shoot, given the high-production value of the car and the specific "Junky" phrasing.
The "Gold Digger" Narrative: A segment of the audience has been quick to criticize the woman, suggesting she may have overstayed her welcome or misrepresented herself to the car owners.
The Moral Debate: Others have called out the "harshness" of the video, arguing that even if there was a disagreement, filming and shaming someone by calling them a "junky" is a step too far.

Rising Tensions in "Soft Life" Culture

This incident highlights the growing tension within the "soft life" culture often showcased on Zimbabwean social media. The allure of luxury cars and high-end lifestyles often comes with "fine print," and as this video suggests, the exit from that lifestyle can be just as public as the entry.

Neither the woman in the video nor the owners of the McLaren have issued an official statement regarding the clash. However, as the video continues to rack up thousands of views, the phrase "Buda muno mu McLaren mangu" is already on its way to becoming the latest viral soundbite.

The Constitution of Zimbabwe (2013) is a product of a long and painful historical struggle, reflecting the aspirations of Zimbabweans for democratic governance, equality, and self-determination. It is not merely a legal instrument but a social contract grounded in the sacrifices of the liberation struggle.

Any proposed amendment must therefore be approached with caution, ensuring that both the letter and spirit of the Constitution as well as the historical values underpinning it are preserved.

Zimbabwe’s constitutional democracy is rooted in the rejection of the Unilateral Declaration of Independence (1965) by the government of Ian Smith, which denied the majority population political participation.

The liberation struggle was fought, at great human cost, to establish universal suffrage, political equality, and the principle of 'one person, one vote.'

Many Zimbabweans lost their lives in pursuit of a system where leaders derive legitimacy directly from the people.

A move away from direct election risks undermining the very democratic gains for which the liberation struggle was fought.

The 2013 Constitution establishes direct election of the President, universal adult suffrage, and accountability of leadership to citizens.

Changing this framework would alter the source of executive legitimacy, weaken direct democratic participation, and fundamentally reshape Zimbabwe’s constitutional architecture.

Such a change should require approval by referendum in line with Section 328.

Section 328(7) provides that amendments extending the length of time a person may hold office as President must not benefit the incumbent.

Even where amendments are framed procedurally, their practical effect must be scrutinised.

If the effect is to extend tenure, delay elections, or indirectly benefit a sitting office holder, this risks violating both the letter and intent of the Constitution.

The Constitution recognises the important role of traditional leaders (chiefs) as custodians of culture, arbiters of disputes, and leaders within rural communities.

Allowing or encouraging traditional leaders to participate in partisan politics risks undermining their neutrality, eroding community trust, and compromising their role as fair and impartial decision-makers.

This is comparable to the judiciary entering partisan politics, which would undermine public confidence in justice systems.

Traditional leaders must remain non-partisan custodians of customary law and community cohesion.

The Zimbabwe Gender Commission plays a critical role in promoting gender equality, addressing discrimination, and advancing women’s rights.

This is particularly important in a society shaped by patriarchal norms where women face structural inequalities.

Despite limited financial resources, the Commission contributes to awareness, policy development, and gender justice.

Reforms should strengthen and adequately resource such institutions.

The Constitution is built upon popular sovereignty, accountability, and safeguards against concentration of power.

Parliament cannot substitute the direct will of the people in matters that fundamentally alter democratic structure.

The Constitution of Zimbabwe represents the outcome of a liberation struggle, the aspirations of its people, and a commitment to democratic governance.

Amendments must protect, not dilute, democratic participation.

Historical principles such as 'one person, one vote' must remain central.

Institutions promoting equality and justice must be strengthened.

Traditional leadership must remain politically neutral.

1. Any amendment affecting presidential election or tenure be subjected to a national referendum.

2. Section 328 protections be strictly upheld to prevent incumbent benefit.

3. The role of traditional leaders remain non-partisan.

4. Constitutional commissions be strengthened and resourced

Mentally Challenged Man Dies After Consuming Poisoned PorridgeBulawayo provincial police spokesperson Nomalanga Msebele said the case highlights the serious dangers of keeping toxic substances in easily accessible places at home.

“The now-deceased, identified as Kindness Paradza, who was reportedly mentally unwell, put an unknown pesticide in a pot of porridge he was preparing for his family,” she said.

Msebele explained that Paradza’s wife quickly disposed of the porridge to prevent the family from consuming it, an action that reportedly led to a confrontation and prompted relatives to call the police for assistance.

HARARE — Harare lawyer Concellia Maheya has been convicted of theft of trust property and remanded in custody pending her pre-sentencing hearing, following a fraudulent US$30,000 real estate transaction.

Maheya, formerly employed by Maseko Law Chambers, was found guilty on Friday by Harare magistrate Lisa Mutendereki following a full trial. Prosecutors proved that she accepted US$30,000 in trust from a buyer using forged title deeds, despite the property having been sold to a different party three years earlier.

According to state pros

ecutor Takudzwa Jambawo, the incident began in October 2021 when the complainant, Mercy Kabvara, sought to purchase property. An estate agent, Templeton P. Chadyiwa, directed Kabvara to a 1,265-square-meter stand in Bluffhill Township and subsequently introduced her to Maheya.

Maheya claimed to be acting on behalf of the property's purported owner, Zvatinowona Tsitsi Kujeke. The court heard that Maheya presented a Deed of Transfer—which the State later proved was fake—and signed an agreement of sale on behalf of the seller on Oct. 29, 2021.

Kabvara handed over US$30,000 in cash for Maheya to hold in trust pending the lawful transfer of ownership, alongside an additional US$500 for conveyancing fees.

When Maheya failed to produce the title deeds in the following weeks, Kabvara visited the Deeds Office to verify the documents. Officials informed her that the deed she had been shown was forged and that the office had confiscated the fraudulent paperwork to destroy it.

Further investigations through the City of Harare revealed the Bluffhill stand had actually been sold by Kujeke to a man named Collen Kapende in June 2018.

In December 2022, Maheya attempted to compensate Kabvara by offering her a house in Hatfield Estate. However, the agreement collapsed because the property was under the administration of the Master of the High Court, and Maheya lacked the legal consent required under the Administration of Estates Act to sell it.

Following the failed compensation attempt, Maheya signed an acknowledgment of debt for the US$30,000 on Feb. 23, 2023.

Maheya is scheduled to return to court on April 7 for sentencing. - Zimbo LIVE Harare

being crowned as the “Igwe Ndigbo” of KuGompo City.South Africa has a documented history of sporadic "xenophobic" or "afrophobic" violence, often triggered by localized disputes between different migrant communities or between locals and foreign nationals. These incidents frequently center on competition for resources, retail dominance in townships, or personal grievances that quickly escalate into communal clashes.

The involvement of the minibus taxi—a vital but often volatile sector of South African transport—suggests that the unrest may be impacting local infrastructure and daily commutes.

HIV Rapist Jailed in Absence as International Manhunt Launched

A convicted rapist who knowingly infected a woman with HIV fled the UK before sentencing and is believed to have escaped to Zimbabwe, triggering an international manhunt. Brian Tatenda Shayanowako, 54, formerly of Lower Adelaide Street in Northampton, was sentenced to 12 years in prison in his absence after being found guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court.

Shayanowako was convicted of rape and had also pleaded guilty to recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm, after it was established that he had unprotected sex with the victim over several years while knowingly carrying HIV. The offences took place between 2006 and 2010, with the court hearing that he failed to disclose his condition, ultimately resulting in the victim becoming infected.

The case also revealed a history of violence. In 2002, while living in Slough, Shayanowako poured boiling water over the same woman, causing serious burns to her chest and abdomen. The following year, in 2003, he raped her. Despite these earlier incidents, the prolonged abuse continued for years, culminating in the transmission of HIV.

Shayanowako arrived in the UK in 2001 and had lived in several locations including Slough, Milton Keynes and Northampton. By the time he was due to be sentenced in August 2014, he had already absconded, avoiding custody entirely. As a result, the court proceeded in his absence, handing down a 12-year sentence.

Following the conviction, Thames Valley Police issued a warrant for his arrest and began efforts to locate him. Investigators later confirmed that intelligence suggested he had fled to Zimbabwe, prompting authorities to expand their search internationally and liaise with overseas law enforcement agencies.

Detective Constable Charlotte McDonald, who led the investigation, made clear that the case was not about criminalising individuals living with HIV, but about the deliberate and reckless transmission of the virus. She emphasised that Shayanowako’s actions involved knowingly putting another person at serious risk, resulting in life-changing consequences for the victim.

The case highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement when offenders flee the country before sentencing, particularly in cases involving serious violent and sexual offences. It also underscores the importance of international cooperation in tracking and apprehending fugitives.

Police continue to appeal for information regarding Shayanowako’s whereabouts, with efforts ongoing to locate and return him to the UK to serve his sentence. For the victim, the conviction represents a measure of justice, but the absence of the offender means the case remains unresolved in practical terms.

This case raises critical questions about how offenders are able to evade sentencing and the systems in place to prevent such escapes. It also brings attention to the severe and lasting impact of offences involving both violence and the transmission of serious illness.

Shayanowako remains wanted, and authorities have made clear that efforts to locate him will continue until he is brought back to face the full consequences of his crimes.

Chatunga Mugabe To Spend Three More Weeks In Jail As State Rejects Plea Deal, Magistrate Warns Final Postponement

Chatunga Mugabe Case Postponed To April After Plea Negotiations Stall

Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe will spend three more weeks behind bars after plea negotiations between the State and the defence failed, with the magistrate warning that the latest postponement could be the last. The matter, involving Mugabe and his co-accused Tobias Matonhodze, has now been postponed to 17 April 2026 for further

investigations after prosecutors indicated they were not satisfied with what the defence had offered. The development comes after earlier reports on 17 March 2026 indicated that both parties were “98 percent” close to reaching a plea agreement, raising expectations that the matter would be resolved quickly. However, those negotiations appear to have stalled, resulting in further delays and continued detention for the accused.

According to SABC journalist Chriselda Zozi Lewis, the negotiations broke down during court proceedings.

“There has been NO plea agreement reached between the state and defense in the case involving Bellarmine Mugabe and Tobias Matonhodze. It seems the state is not happy with what the defense is putting on the table. The matter has been postponed to 17 April for further investigations.”

The post indicated that prosecutors were not prepared to accept the defence proposal, leading to the postponement.

Plea Deal Talks Collapse After Earlier Optimism

The latest development marks a shift from the position reported just days earlier. On 17 March 2026, proceedings at the Alexandra Magistrates Court in Johannesburg suggested that negotiations were nearing completion.

During those proceedings, defence lawyer Sinenhlanhla Mnguni indicated that discussions were progressing well.

We placed on record what transpired in negotiations between the State and the defence. The discussions are at an advanced stage.”

Mnguni also expressed optimism that the matter would be resolved quickly.

“We are hopeful that we will be able to conclude the plea and finalise the matter then.”

However, despite the optimism, negotiations failed to produce a final agreement by 24 March 2026, resulting in the additional postponement.

Charges Stem From February Shooting Incident

Mugabe and Matonhodze were arrested on 19 February 2026 in Johannesburg following a shooting incident involving a 23-year-old employee at Mugabe’s residence. Authorities said the victim was left in a critical condition but is expected to recover.

Tasara Hungwe, the ZANU PF MP for Mberengwa East, is being investigated for allegedly misusing more than ZiG1.3 million from a Constituency Development Fund (CDF), according to ZimLive.

The money was given to him in August last year. It is alleged that he quickly moved the funds through several transactions until they ended up in a microfinance company’s account, which then reportedly paid him in US dollars.

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) was said to be ready to arrest him last week, but reports claim that a senior ZANU PF official stepped in and stopped the arrest.

say the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s Financial Intelligence Unit is assisting in the investigation.

Hungwe, a first-term MP elected in 2023, is a director of two companies – Tatiude (Pvt) Ltd and Matquick Hardware (Pvt) Ltd.

Mberengwa East received ZiG1,341,500 (about US$53,000) under the CDF, paid out on August 14, 2025, according to documents seen by ZimLive.

Soon after, Hungwe transferred ZiG799,641.32 to Tatiude and ZiG440,171.37 to Matquick Hardware, both linked to him.

The companies then moved the funds to Simbaramabwe Construction and Hardware (Pvt) Ltd – ZiG760,000 from Tatiude and ZiG361,000 from Matquick.

Simbaramabwe subsequently channelled the money to Success Microfinance, where the trail goes cold. Investigators believe the firm then paid Hungwe in US dollars.

A source familiar with the probe said there were “strong suspicions of misuse, possible diversion of public funds from their intended purpose, and an obvious conflict of interest potentially amounting to money laundering.”

CDF allocations are meant for constituency projects pre-approved by Parliament and managed by a local committee comprising the area senator, proportional representation MP, selected councillors and traditional leaders. Signatories are drawn from this committee and operate a designated account.

ZACC had not responded to detailed questions at the time of publication, despite earlier indications it would do so. We had specifically asked the anti-graft body to respond to allegations of political interference in its investigations.

Hungwe insisted he could account for the funds but declined to answer questions about the companies involved, identify members of his CDF committee, or specify which projects had been funded.

“Diverting CDF money, me? That is not a true story,” he said in response to written questions which he did not address.

Hungwe is the second Zanu PF MP to be investigated over alleged CDF abuse this year.

In January, Chiredzi West MP Darlington Chiwa was arrested by ZACC for allegedly diverting over ZiG990,000 (about US$50,000 at the April 2025 exchange rate) from the constituency account into his personal accounts.

He is accused of using the funds for personal expenses, including beer, shoes, groceries and building materials, with only a small portion going towards constituency projects.

The case is pending.
