PRESIDENT Mnangagwa yesterday further extended national lockdown level four by two weeks and warned that Zimbabwe faces the threat of a fourth wave being experienced in other countries. He said this in a televised address yesterday evening as he urged citizens to comply with Covid-19 prevention protocols. Most patients have been forced to seek treatment and admission at private hospitals as government hospitals are being overwhelmed. 81 people reportedly escaped from the Beitbridge Quarantine, Isolation and Transit centre last week under unclear circumstances. Among them 29 were Covid-19 positive. The group included 71 Malawian border jumpers who were arrested by the police last week while en-route to South Africa. Ten other members of the group were Zimbabweans who had just been deported for violating South African immigration laws. Armed robbers opened fire in Bulawayo’s city centre, Saturday, minutes after robbing a suspected illegal foreign currency dealer of an undisclosed amount of cash stashed in a bag.
