Chamisa & Khupe Fued Is Not Ending Soon

THE senseless blood-letting in the MDC continues with interim president Thokozani Khupe wielding the axe on 11 more councillors in Harare, including deputy mayor Enock Mupamawonde, the Daily News reports. This comes as Khupe and Nelson Chamisa’s MDC factions are set for another titanic battle over the use of the name MDC Alliance in December local authority and National Assembly by-elections that arose after several MPs and councillors were recalled by the party. The wave of recalls came after the Supreme Court annulled Chamisa’s MDC presidency after ruling that Khupe should be the party’s interim leader — with the mandate to organise an extraordinary congress to elect a new party president using its 2014 structures. Khupe recently recalled Harare mayor Her

Mambo Dhuterere Says Munonyepa I Am Not A One Hit Wonder

Gospel musician Darlington Mutseta, known by his music followers as Mambo Dhuterere, has said the release of his fourth album yesterday proves to critics that he is not a one-hit wonder. The album — “Zvino Dzimba Ngoni” — comes at a time when some gospel music fans were beginning to doubt Mambo Dhuterere’s pedigree, challenging him to prove his mettle after he recently stormed the music scene with chart-topping songs. He released albums “Dhuterere” in 2015, “Tsamba” (2018) and “Dare Guru” last year. “Zvino Dzimba Ngoni”, which carries five songs, was due for release on August 25, but was postponed owing to logistical problems. The songs on the album are “Zvinonyadzisa”, “Ndabvunza Manu

Women Claims Zvikwambo Belong To Her Son In South Africa

A worried man in Gokwe reported his mother to Chief Mkoka accusing her of owning goblins that caused his wife to produce milk for four years after she weaned her child and also led to the death of two daughters-in-law. The son’s in-laws have denied him access to his wife pointing out that the(Chikonde) family had to get rid of the goblins that were troubling their daughter. So strange is the daughter-in-law’s situation that her breasts have bulged and are itchy as they continue to produce milk. Sensing death and failing to sleep while fighting mystical beings thought to be goblins, that forcefully had s_x with her, the troubled daughter-in-law has since returned to stay with her parents. The strange revelations were laid bare at Chief Mkoka’s traditional court la

Job Sikhala Says I Am AProphet Of Peace In Zimbabwe

OUTSPOKEN MDC Alliance vice chairperson Job Sikhala says he has been critical of the government since he was 16 years old and would not flee the country despite the State’s desire to persecute critics into exile. Sikhala is fighting to be admitted to bail after he was arrested on allegations of inciting people to commit public violence. His bail application continues today with lead counsel Eric Matinenga expected to make his closing submissions. Sikhala was yesterday put on the stand by his lawyers in support of their application and he told the court he is an “apostle of peace” and allergic to violence as he had experienced it in 2003 at the hands of the State. He said he has not had peace ever since he was acquitted recently of subversion allegations by the High

Chinono & Ngarivhume Bail Decision Postponed To Next Week

The High Court on Friday postponed to next week the bail ruling for detained journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and Transform Zimbabwe leader Jacob Ngarivhume, who are facing charges of inciting public violence. The two approached the High Court for bail after the Harare Magistrate Court earlier this week threw out their applications for partial freedom. After hearing arguments from the State and the applicants in the cases on Friday, the High Court reserved judgment to next week. The duo were arrested last month on charges of inciting public violence after posting social media messages allegedly encouraging people to take part in banned protests against the government. The protests, the latest in a series called by the opposition and allied civic groups, were penciled for July 3

Hondo Yekutonga Komichi Threatens To Expel Mwonzora From MDC-T

THE Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) chairperson Morgen Komichi said the party will take action against its rogue members who are perpetrating violence and fanning factionalism. Komichi told the Daily News on Tuesday that there was gross indiscipline in the party which is threatening its cohesion. He said: We will indeed take disciplinary measures against rogue elements in the party because we need order. We are a party that believes in constitutionalism and justice. We want to be a team, not a group. So, unity is necessary. We do not want to perpetuate factionalism. Komichi’s remarks come amid reports that the party’s leader Thokozani Khupe is pushing to have her secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora disciplined for allegedly sponsoring violence and making decis

Chamisa Finally Puts On His Boxing Gloves & Starts Attacking Khupe

EMBATTLED opposition MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa and his lieutenants are mobilising against Khupe's bid to return to Parliament and to fill other positions of recalled MPs with her allies. This comes as Khupe has replaced 15 of the 21 MPs that she has recalled so far. The bid to foil Khupe and her nominees also comes as the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) has invited voters with objections to the replacements to exercise their rights before the vacant parliamentary seats are filled. MDC Alliance national organising secretary, Amos Chibaya, told the Daily News yesterday that they had also deployed party officials to constituencies to mobilise voters to register their objections. "We were given 14 days to register our objections and we have put our machinery i

Kunyadziswa Bulawayo Voters Reject Thokozani Khupe

SOME voters in Bulawayo East constituency have vowed to object the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC)'s decision to replace MDC Alliance National House of Assembly Women Proportional Representative Tabitha Khumalo with MDC-T interim president Thokozani Khupe following the recall of the former from Parliament. Last week, ZEC gazetted that Khupe and other politicians from her party were nominees set to fill in seats in the National Assembly and Senate that fell vacant following their recalling from Parliament of MDC Alliance MPs by the MDC-T Secretary-General Douglas Mwonzora. Following the gazetting of the names, ZEC chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba invited voters with objections to lodge them with her office before the nominations are confirmed. On Sunday, some voters i
