A-39-YEARS- OLD woman from Dzivaresekwa 2 Nhewe Street, is said to have strangled her newly born baby in an effort to conceal her pregnancy.
It is said she gave birth in the early hours of today alone in her room.
The baby cried twice which was heard by her brother.
In an effort to find out where the crying baby sound was coming the brother then went to his sister's room and found the horror awaiting as his sister was writhing in pain from labour.
The newly born was placed in a bucket dead.
The brother realising that his sister was lying to him that she was suffering from fibroids and acids hence the swelling of her tummy , he took her purporting to be going to the clinic for medical check ups .
He went straight to police where the woman and her dead newly born baby are in the hands of the police.
The police is yet to comment on the incident.
