Jesus Generation International Ministries founder and leader,  Prophet Edd Branson has officially changed his birth name.

On the 28th of July this year, the self-proclaimed man of God changed his birth name Edwin Mutongwizo to Edd Branson Prophet Edd Branson’s ‘Notice of Name Change’  was gazetted in a newspaper column.
“NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT,BY NOTARIAL DEED EXECUTED BEFORE ME, ARTHUR MARARA, A LEGAL PRACTITIONER AND NOTARY PUBLIC AT HARARE, ON THE 28TH DAY OF JULY,2021 EDWIN MUTONGWIZO APPEARED IN HIS PERSONAL CAPACITY AND CHANGED HIS NAME AND SURNAME TO EDD BRANSON AND THE APPEARER SHALL HENCEFORTH BE KNOWN ON ALL OCCASSIONS BY THE NAME EDD BRANSON…” reads the notice.

Legally adopting a new name, different from your birth name, has become a common practice in the entertainment industry.

Due to the fact that we don’t really get a say in what we’re named at birth, some prominent and non-prominent people take it upon themselves to change their birth names.

You would be surprised by the number of Hollywood celebs who have decided to switch it up and change their birth names.

John Legend, born John Stephens, officially changed his real name and decided to use his stage name instead. The name “John Legend” was a nickname that his friends used to call him back in the days.
“John Legend is a nickname that some friends started calling me, and it kind of grew into my stage name. ‘Legend’ is something that I never would have chosen for myself originally. It grew to the point where more people in my circle would know me by that name than by my real name. I had to make a decision,” John told MTV News.

Nicki Minaj is another celeb that changed her birth name. Born Onika Tanya Maraj, she changed her name to “Nicki Minaj” after her manager convinced her that she had to change her name.

Divorce Mediation Lawyer: Can You Settle Without Trial?

Divorce does not always have to end in a courtroom fight.

Mediation gives spouses a structured way to resolve disputes with the help of a neutral mediator. A divorce mediation lawyer can help you prepare for mediation, understand your rights, review proposals, and protect your interests before you sign an agreement.

Mediation may be less expensive, less stressful, and more private than trial.

What Is Divorce Mediation?

Divorce mediation is a process where spouses work with a neutral mediator to reach agreements.

Issues may include:

Property division
Debt division
Child custody
Parenting time
Child support
Spousal support
Retirement accounts
Holiday schedules
Tax issues
Home sale or buyout

The mediator does not represent either spouse. The mediator helps both sides communicate and explore settlement options.

Do You Need a Lawyer If You Use Mediation?

Yes, legal advice can still be important.

A mediator is neutral. Your lawyer protects your interests.

A divorce lawyer can help you:

Understand legal rights
Prepare financial documents
Identify hidden issues
Evaluate settlement offers
Avoid unfair terms
Review final agreements
Prepare for court approval

Mediation works best when both people understand what they are agreeing to.

Benefits of Divorce Mediation

Potential benefits include:

Lower cost
Less conflict
More privacy
Faster resolution
More control
Better co-parenting foundation
Flexible solutions
Reduced stress on children

Mediation can be especially helpful when parents need to continue working together after divorce.

When Mediation May Not Work

Mediation may not be appropriate if:

There is domestic violence
One spouse is hiding assets
One spouse dominates the other
There is severe intimidation
A spouse refuses financial disclosure
Substance abuse affects safety
A spouse will not negotiate honestly
Emergency court orders are needed

A lawyer can help decide whether mediation is safe and realistic.

How to Prepare for Mediation

Before mediation, gather:

Tax returns
Pay stubs
Bank statements
Mortgage documents
Credit card statements
Retirement account statements
Business records
Insurance information
Child expense records
Proposed parenting schedule
Budget

Preparation gives you a stronger position.

What Happens If Mediation Works?

If both spouses reach an agreement, the terms may be written into a settlement agreement.

That agreement may later become part of the divorce decree.

Before signing, have a lawyer review the language carefully.

What Happens If Mediation Fails?

If mediation does not resolve everything, the case may continue in court.

Even partial agreements can help narrow the issues for trial.

Final Thoughts

Divorce mediation can be a powerful way to settle without trial, but it works best when both spouses are honest, prepared, and informed.

A divorce mediation lawyer can help you negotiate wisely and avoid signing an agreement that creates future problems.

Mortgage Refinance Rates: When Refinancing Makes Sense

Mortgage Refinance Rates: When Refinancing Makes Sense

Many homeowners consider refinancing when mortgage refinance rates drop or when they want to change loan terms. A refinance replaces your current mortgage with a new loan.

People refinance to lower monthly payments, reduce interest rates, switch from an adjustable-rate mortgage to a fixed-rate loan, or access equity through a cash-out refinance.

When to Refinance Mortgage Loans

A home loan refinance may make sense if the savings are greater than the closing costs. Closing costs can include lender fees, appraisal fees, title fees, and taxes.

Cash-Out Refinance

A cash-out refinance allows homeowners to borrow against home equity. The funds may be used for home improvements, debt consolidation, or major expenses. However, it increases the loan balance.

Final Thoughts

Before refinancing, compare mortgage refinance rates, closing costs, monthly savings, and how long you plan to stay in the home.
