Gray Homes Construction Murume Nemukadzi Vabuda Mujeri After 5 Months

AFTER FOUR MONTHS, GRAY HOMES

Zvikomborero Parafini

AFTER being in custody for four months, the Gray Homes Construction directors — Annavestah and Gray Mudiwa — have finally been granted bail.

The couple was granted bail by Harare magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa on US$500 bail.

They were ordered to surrender their passports, to report once a week at CID and to stay at their given addresses.

The couple is now facing seven charges of fraud. One of the complainants is Creative Itel (Pvt) Ltd, which is represented by Shalome Chigovanyika.

Allegations are that in September last year, Annavestah ordered 15 Itel 2160 phones valued at US$144 each, 480 Itel 5606 phones valued at US$5856, 84 Itel A04 valued at US$5292, 80 Itel A18 phones valued at US$4000, 42 Itel P40 phones valued at US$4284, eight Samsung A03 core phones valued at US$648, and eight Samsung A04 phones valued at US$736.

She allegedly misrepresented that the phones were meant for Government officials knowing fully well that she had no such agreement with the Government of Zimbabwe.

She promised to settle the bill in 21 days but nothing materialised.

The other complainant is Overexport Southern Africa (Pvt) Ltd, represented by Blessed Priscilla Soko.

Allegations are that between February 20 and September 4 last year, Annavestah allegedly duped Overexport into believing that she would pay for hardware goods that she ordered within 30 days.

The company dispatched the goods worth US$79 000 and, after receiving the goods, Annavestah only paid US$39 860 and became evasive.

In the third count, the court heard that on March 15 last year, Osborn Tinokura Kudyanyemba of Collare Investments was introduced to Annavestah by someone called Takunda Masenda.

She allegedly misrepresented to Kadyanyemba that she was running a viable hardware shop with quick turnover.

Acting on the misrepresentation, Masenda gave her electric switches, sockets display units, Chandelier lights and water dispensers valued at US$31 723.

She promised to settle the bill within 30 days but became evasive, prompting Kudyanyemba to file a police report.

Mesothelioma and Asbestos Exposure: Understanding Legal Rights and Medical Treatment

Mesothelioma is a rare but aggressive form of cancer commonly linked to asbestos exposure. For decades, asbestos was widely used in construction materials, insulation products, shipbuilding, and industrial manufacturing because of its heat-resistant properties. Unfortunately, many workers who handled asbestos-containing materials later developed serious health complications, including lung diseases and mesothelioma cancer.

One of the biggest challenges with mesothelioma is that symptoms may not appear until many years after asbestos exposure. Patients often experience chest pain, breathing difficulties, persistent coughing, and fatigue before receiving a diagnosis. Because the disease is aggressive, early detection and specialized medical treatment are critical for improving survival rates and quality of life.

Treatment options for mesothelioma may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy depending on the stage of the cancer. Medical researchers continue exploring advanced treatments and clinical trials designed to improve patient outcomes. Specialized cancer centers often provide multidisciplinary care focused on pain management and long-term support.

Many mesothelioma patients also pursue legal compensation through asbestos lawsuits and settlement claims. Companies that exposed workers to asbestos without proper safety measures have faced significant legal actions over the years. Experienced mesothelioma attorneys help victims and families recover compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and emotional suffering.

Experts recommend that individuals who previously worked in construction, shipyards, mining, or industrial manufacturing seek regular health screenings if they suspect past asbestos exposure. Awareness, early diagnosis, and legal guidance remain essential for families affected by asbestos-related diseases.
