VICE President General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga, has encouraged the youth to harness the spirit of hope and make rational choices to shape their destinies and the future of their communities.
Speaking at a fundraising dinner for the Jubilee Year of the Youth Pilgrimage at St. Gerard’s Parish in Harare, VP Chiwenga emphasised the importance of empowering the youth, stating that they are the architects of the country’s future and the leaders of tomorrow.
He encouraged them to make rational choices, avoid destructive behaviours like substance abuse, and engage in positive activities such as sports and arts.
Vice President Chiwenga also highlighted the significance of the Jubilee Year, themed “Pilgrims of Hope,” which offers a profound occasion for renewal, reflection, and reconciliation.
He appealed to the congregation to support the youth in overcoming financial hurdles, enabling them to participate in the life-changing pilgrimage to Rome.
The fundraising dinner, organised by the Roman Catholic St Gerald’s Youth and Vocations, aims to raise US$30,000 to support underprivileged youths in attending the Jubilee of the Youth in Rome, providing them with a unique and enriching experience.
